Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what we won't do with it.
Effective August 6, 2026 · Last updated August 6, 2026
The short version
We collect what you give us when you apply or book a call, plus privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic stats. We don't sell your information, we don't run ad trackers, and we don't share what you tell us with anyone outside the vendors listed below. Whatever gets said inside an Owners' Table session stays in that room.
Who we are
Owner Up is operated by Higher Peak LLC ("Owner Up," "we," "us"). We're the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us any time at hello@joinownerup.com.
This policy covers joinownerup.com and the membership services we run from it. It doesn't cover third-party sites we link to, which have their own policies.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Application details: your name, company, email address and phone number when you submit the form on our Apply page.
- Scheduling details: your name, email, time zone and anything you write in the notes field when you book a call through our booking tool.
- Correspondence: what you send us by email, and notes we take about our conversations so we can follow up properly.
- Membership details: if you join, the information needed to run your membership and, if applicable, billing details handled by our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Traffic statistics. We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn't collect or store personal data or build cross-site profiles. It tells us page views, referring sites, country and device type in aggregate. It doesn't tell us who you are.
- Server logs. Our host records standard request data, including IP address, for security and reliability.
- Third-party embeds. The application form and the booking calendar are embedded from HubSpot and Cal.com. Those tools may set their own cookies or identifiers when the embed loads. See the table below.
Cookies and tracking
Owner Up doesn't set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of its own, and we don't run retargeting pixels. Our analytics are cookieless by design, which is why you won't see a cookie banner demanding consent for things we aren't doing.
The embedded HubSpot form and Cal.com calendar on the Apply page may set functional cookies when they load, for things like remembering a partially completed form. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a "Do Not Track" or global privacy control signal, which we honor where the law requires it.
Why we use it
- To review your application and decide whether a room is a fit, and to talk with you about it.
- To run the membership: scheduling sessions, sending session materials, handling billing.
- To answer your questions and stay in touch about Owner Up. You can opt out of non-essential email at any time.
- To understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the site.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to protect the site from abuse.
If you're in the UK, EU or another region with similar law, our lawful bases are: consent (for optional marketing email), contract (running your membership), legitimate interests (assessing applications, improving the site, security), and legal obligation (records we're required to keep).
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that make Owner Up run, and only so they can perform that service for us. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
| Provider | What it does | What it touches |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Website hosting | Server logs, IP address |
| HubSpot | Application form and CRM | Name, company, email, phone, our notes |
| Cal.com | Call scheduling | Name, email, time zone, booking notes |
| Plausible Analytics | Cookieless traffic statistics | Aggregate, non-identifying data |
| Microsoft 365 | Email, calendar and video sessions | Correspondence, session invitations |
| Google Fonts | Serves the site's typefaces | IP address at the moment fonts load |
| Stripe | Membership payments | Billing details, handled entirely by Stripe |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety or property. If Owner Up is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction, and this policy would follow it.
Confidentiality inside the room
The Owners' Table runs on confidentiality. What members share in a session is not recorded for distribution, not sold, and not shared outside the room. Members agree to the same standard as a condition of their seat. This is a commitment we make to each other, separate from and stricter than anything privacy law requires.
How long we keep it
Application information is kept while we're considering it and for a reasonable period afterward, in case a room opens up later that fits you better. Membership and billing records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, generally seven years. Aggregate analytics are retained indefinitely because they aren't tied to you. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will unless we're required to keep it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email hello@joinownerup.com and ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. We'll respond within 30 days and we won't treat you differently for asking.
If you're in the EU, UK or Switzerland
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
If you're in California
Under the CCPA and CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We don't use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond what's needed to provide the service. Exercising these rights will never result in different pricing or service.
Other US states
If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas or Utah, you have comparable rights and can exercise them through the same email address.
Where your information goes
We're based in the United States and our service providers are primarily US-based, so your information is processed in the US. If you're in the EEA or UK, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard offered by the provider in question.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, and we use reputable providers with their own security programs, access controls and multi-factor authentication on our accounts. No system is perfect, and we can't promise absolute security, but we take it seriously and we keep the amount of information we hold deliberately small.
Children
Owner Up is for people running businesses they bought. It isn't directed at anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to members directly.
